Freddo Freddo
I just cut together our fake commercial for the Italian soft drinks Caldo Caldo and Freddo Freddo.
They are coffee or iced tea in plastic containers… you press a button and a blister separating two compartments is broken. You shake the cup to make the chemicals mix, and the drink changes temperature- Freddo Freddo makes the tea cold, and Caldo Caldo makes the espresso hot. The funny part is that most of the volume of the cup is devoted to the chemicals… the volume of the actual drink is about 4 or 6 ounces! So when Diane and I were staying in Pisa on vacation, we filmed a series of short clips, demonstating this wacky product we found in the supermarket. In front of the Leaning Tower.I just cut together our fake commercial for the Italian soft drinks Caldo Caldo and Freddo Freddo.

Flowershop’s site sucks ass
danh was going to the Lightning Bolt show- but didn’t have an address for the venue where they were playing.
So he called me up and we surfed the web site for Flowershop,
(the venue).
- they obviously put some effort into the design of the site (even if they did just paint something in Illustrator, import it into Photoshop, and then cut it and put it in a table), and yet the server is totally misconfigured- if you type the URL in without the “index.html” you get a directory listing of the entire site.
- The site is basically illegible
- They don’t list the actual ADDRESS of the place anywhere!
- The site runs like a dog
Talking with danh is always an educational experience… on the way he directed me to:
- ZUM, a zine
- Load Records, Lightning Bolt’s label
